Fun & Easy Shaker Card & A Blog Hop!

 Fun & Easy Shaker Card!!

It's another Blog Hop with our team Canada Ink's Up!!

This months theme is a fun fold. I think a shaker card falls into that category?? This is a card we will be making at my December Card Club! Be sure to hop along to all the other participants! The list is near the bottom of this post.

I saw this technique from Patty Bennett and I have been making lots of these fun cards! It's very addicting!

I started with a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Basic White Card Stock, scored at 5 1/2". The open end of this card base will be the top of the card.

Using a Clear Cello Stampin' Up! Envelope, place a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Window Sheet inside the envelope.

Fill with Sequins! Make sure your sequins are on the front side of the envelope/window sheet with the flap, that will be the front. Tape the opening closed with some scotch tape. You don't want all your precious sequins escaping!

Remove the clear envelope release tape and with the card base opening at the TOP and the clear envelope opening at the top, line up the bottom of the envelope to the bottom of the C/S and the sides evenly. Once you are happy with the placement, fold the envelope adhesive flap over to the inside of the card base. Using Tear and Tape, completely seal the card closed on the top, bottom and both sides. Now the clear envelope lifts up and becomes your card front!

Attach a layer of 4" x 5 1/4" of Basic Black C/S, then a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper to the inside of the card.

Die cut 2 Basic White C/S labels using the Tasteful Labels Dies. Stamp one with a sentiment and one with the ornaments using Memento Black Ink.

Die cut a large and small Basic Black C/S Christmas tree using the Christmas Tree Dies. Using the Tinsel Die, cut some Silver Foil or Silver Glimmer Paper tinsel. Glue onto the small tree using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

Attach the front label using some Tear And Tape.

To attach the inside label, I lined it up with the front label, then glued it down. Attach the larger Christmas tree inside.

Add some Wink Of Stella to the ornaments.

If you need more room to hand write your greeting use the back of the card.

I hope you like todays card and have a chance to play around and create some of these fun fold shaker cards for yourself!

Happy Stamping and Creating!

Arlene

Celebrate Sketch Challenge!

 Celebrate Sketch Challenge Card!

This is my card for the weekly challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches. Check out all the other fabulous designs HERE!

I kept it very simple.

The card base is Night Of Navy C/S with another layer of Night Of Navy embossed using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.

I used the beautiful Gold and Rose Gold Specialty Metallic Papers and a strip of Night Of Navy C/S to create the layered strip across the card.

I punched a Basic White C/S label using the Everyday Label Punch. I stamped the ornaments, then coloured them using Stampin' Blends. I stamped the sentiment using Real Red Ink.

I added some pretty Gold Simply Elegant Trim behind the label then attached it to my card using Dimensionals.

Happy Stamping and Creating!

Whimsical Christmas Trees

Whimsical Christmas Trees

I have seen so many amazing cards designed with the Whimsical Trees Bundle. I took some inspiration from some of these cards to design this card. This was also one of the cards we made at our October Card Club.

Directions:

I started with a card base of Misty Moonlight Card Stock, cut to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4".

I attached a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" layer of Blushing Bride Card Stock to the card base.

Cut a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Basic White C/S. Stamp a few trees on this layer using Misty Moonlight and Blushing Bride Inks. I spaced them apart so the die cut tree sits in between them. Then emboss this layer using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. Attach this layer to the card base.

Die cut a large Blushing Bride C/S tree using the Christmas Trees Dies, then emboss it using the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder.

Die cut the "garland" for the large tree using Silver Foil and the ornaments using Misty Moonlight C/S. Attach them to the tree using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue. Attach this tree to the card front using Dimensionals.

Fussy cut 3 gifts from the Whimsy and Wonder Designer Series Paper. Tuck 2 of them slightly under the tree and one on top of the other beside the tree.

Stamp the sentiment from Stars Are Shining in Misty Moonlight Ink onto a scrap piece of Basic White C/S. Angle cut both ends and attach using 2 Dimensionals on the right side and 1 Dimensional on the left side where it sits on the tree.

Add some Rhinestones to finish it off.
