Slimline Card

Slimline Card

I joined Freshly Made Sketches again this week. This challenge was something really different. It's a "Slimline" card. I have never made one of these so it was fun to do something different.
Check out all the other cards here:

I started with a piece of Whisper White Card Stock, 8 1/2"x7" and scored at 3 1/2".

I punched out the following circles:
 2 1/4" in Basic Black C/S X2
 2 1/4" in Gold Foil X1
 2" in Whisper White C/S X2
 2" in Whisper White

Stamp leaves and greenery onto the 2 Whisper White C/S circles using the following inks: Pretty Peacock, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. Attach to the Basic Black circles. Add to card front using Dimensionals. *See card for placement*

Stamp 2 pieces of greenery using Pretty Peacock and Highland Heather Inks on a scrap of Whisper White C/S and die cut them out. Glue them to the Basic Black C/S circle. Attach off-set to the Gold Foil circle. Attach to middle of card front using Dimensionals. Add 3 Rhinestones. Stamp the sentiment using Memento Black Ink. Cut out and attach using Dimensionals.

Hope you like todays card!!

Tropical Sunset

Tropical Sunset

This is my card for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.
There are many amazing cards, check them all out here:

This card was designed by my daughter Sara. When she saw the sketch challenge she envisioned this card! She wanted a sunset peeking out from the window with lots of bright colours behind a Basic Black foreground.

The card base is Magenta Madness 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2".
The Basic Black panel is 4" x 51/4" with a 2" circle "window" punched out near the top.
On a 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" piece of Whisper White Card Stock, sponge the sunset background. Sara used: Bumble Bee, Terra Cotta Tile, Magenta Madness, Rich Razzleberry and Misty Moonlight. She then stamped the sun from the June Paper Pumpkin Kit using Pumpkin Pie Ink. Attach the sunset art piece to the card base (watch placement of the sunset so it shows through the window) and then attach the Basic Black C/S layer using Dimensionals around the perimeter and around the window.
Die cut a Palm Tree using Basic Black C/S. Die cut 5 small flowers and the word "Aloha" using the Rainbow Glimmer Paper. Sponge some Champagne Shimmer Paint onto the edges of the trees.
The Palm Tree is attached using Dimensionals. The flowers and Aloha are attached using Multi-purpose Glue.
I love her choice of colours!! The colours POP on this card! Awesome card Sara!! Thanks for your creativity and assistance!!

Happy Stamping and Creating!

Heartfelt

Heartfelt

I love the look of the new Peony Garden Designer Series Paper with Basic Grey and Pretty Peacock Card Stocks! I will be very sad when Pretty Peacock retires next year.

I started with a piece of Smoky Slate Card Stock cut to 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2".
I cut a piece of Pretty Peacock C/S to 1" x 4 1/4" and embossed it using the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. I then attached it to the card front. Then I wrapped some ribbon around the card and tied a bow on the left hand side.
I cut a piece of Basic Grey C/S to 3 1/8" x 4 3/8" and a piece of Peony Garden Designer Series Paper to 3" x 4 1/4". Sponge the edges of the DSP lightly with Basic Grey Ink then attached to the Basic Grey panel. Attach to card front using Dimensionals.
Punch out a label using Whisper White C/S that is 3/4" x 2 3/4" using the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Stamp sentiment using Basic Grey Ink.
Die cut a leaf sprig from Forever Flourishing Dies using Pretty Peacock Card Stock. Attach to card using Glue Dots or Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue. Add Dimensionals to the label and attach to card front.

If you would like to purchase any of these supplies and you live in Canada I would love to be your Demonstrator! Contact me for any help or questions!
