 Fall Leaves

We just returned home from an amazing vacation to Cape Breton Island and Halifax, Nova Scotia. The colours of the trees were amazing and so stunning!!! Words can not describe the beauty of that part of Canada!!
So....what does a stamper do when she returns home from a vacation there, she makes a card!!! It is no where near in comparison but it is my take on the changing of the leaves, Cape Breton style!!

I used the "Thumping" technique for this card. I first inked up my tree from Rooted In Nature in Crushed Curry Ink, then I added Soft Suede to the trunk with my Stampin' Write Marker, then I used the "Thumping" technique, (using darker coloured markers, start tapping or thumping directly onto the stamp, use the side of the marker so you don't damage or flatten the tip). The markers I used were: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Real Red. After I had added all the colour I wanted I very lightly spritz the stamp with water. It gives it a softer more water coloured look. Cut out using the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies.

The Real Red card base was embossed with the Woodland Embossing Folder. I made my own "DSP" by using a Whisper White piece of card stock, 5 1/2" X 2" and stamping the small and medium sized leaf in Real Red, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie, then I splattered the panel with Cajun Craze ink. Attached behind it is a small strip of Copper Foil. I embossed this panel using the Layered Leaves 3D Folder. It is finished off with a copper Leaf Trinket, a triple Linen Thread bow and a wee bit of Wink of Stella Splatter!

Here is a close-up of the beautiful fall tree. You can also see the Woodland Embossing Folder on the card base and the tree panel is embossed with the Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder.

Very Merry Fun Fold!!

I'm still having so much fun colouring the Magnolia Lane DSP! This fun fold was inspired by Ronda Wade!

Recipe:

Basic Black Card Stock 4 1/4" X 11", scored in 1/2 and then cut 3"  off from ONE end.

The 3" piece is then cut down to 2 1/4" X 4",  embossed and attached to the flap. I rubbed my Silvery Delicata Pad lightly over this piece for a hint of sparkle!

The Cherry Cobbler inside fold is 3 1/4" X 8 1/2" scored in 1/2. This is attached to the inside of the card facing backwards so it opens on the left.

Inside panel is 5 1/4" X 4" Whisper White.

The front panels are Silver Foil 4 1/4" X 3 1/4" and the Magnolia Lane DSP is 3 3/4" X 2 3/4".

Supplies Used:

Card Stock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black
Ink: Memento Black, Cherry Cobbler and Silvery Delicata Metallic Ink
Stamps: Itty Bitty Christmas
Accessories: Scripty 3D Embossing Folder, Silver Foil, Magnolia Lane DSP, Layering Circles Dies, Rhinestones, Cherry Cobbler 3/8" Diagonal Stripe Ribbon, Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends

Hope you enjoyed todays card!! I'd love for you to comment on my Blog! Thanks!

Sailing Home

Sailing Home is such a great set! It's also perfect for masculine cards!!

I first stamped the lighthouse in Night of Navy Ink and die cut it  using the Smooth Sailing Dies. It's popped up onto a Whisper White Stitched Nested Label that has the birds flying in the background. The card base is 4x4 Night Of Navy C/S with a 4x4 piece of Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper, I ran this through the Big Shot using the High Seas 3D folder. It's very subtle but it adds a bit of dimension. I finished it off with a sentiment and a Sail Away Trinket.

Supplies Used:

Card Stock: Night Of Navy and Whisper White
Stamp Sets: Itty Bitty Birthdays and Sailing Home
Ink: Memento Black and Night Of Navy (sentiment)
Accessories: Come Sail Away DSP, Stitched Nested Label Dies, High Seas 3D Embossing Folder, Come Sail Away Suite, Sail Away Trinket, Wink Of Stella (Lighthouse windows) and Silver Cord (retired).
