Beginner, Casual and Avid Stamper Cards

Beginner, Casual and Avid Stamper Cards

Today I am showcasing how you can use the same stamp set and technique to get three very different looking cards and for all levels of stampers, the beginner, casual and avid stampers.

This is a great card layout for the new stamper. Or for a "clean and simple" card.

I started with a card base of Basic White Card Stock, 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2".

Using a Blending Brush and Highland Heather Ink, I applied ink in soft, circular motion to a small area in the center of the card. Then I stamped the large floral image from the Calming Camellia Stamp Set overtop of the ink using Highland Heather Ink.

I stamped "with sympathy" using Memento Black Ink and the Special Moments Stamp Set onto the bottom right side of the card. It's a simple card but very pretty.

This card is for the casual stamper.

I started with a Highland Heather Card Stock base, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4".

I stamped the large flower from the Calming Camellia Stamp Set directly onto and all over the card base using Highland Heather Ink. If you closely you can see it behind the Basic White layer. It adds a little bit of detail in a very easy way.

I then cut a piece of Basic White C/S to 4" x 5 1/4". Using the same technique as before, I gently added Highland Heather Ink with my Blending Brush to the center of the layer. Then stamp the floral image from Calming Camellia Stamp Set over top using Highland Heather Ink. Attach this layer to the card base.

On a small scrap of Highland Heather C/S, stamp "with Sympathy" using Memento Black Ink. Attach it to the card using Dimensionals.

Add a Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon bow and a few Rhinestones to finish off the card.

This card is more for the Avid stamper, but anyone can do this!!

I started with a card base of Basic White C/S, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4".

Cut a Basic Black C/S layer, 4" x 5 1/4" and set aside.

Cut a Basic White C/S layer, 3 7/8" x 5 7/8". Using the large flower from the Calming Camellia Stamp Set and Highland Heather Ink *stamped off one time (second generation)* stamp the flower 4 times onto this layer. I wanted the softer look so I stamped off one time so the ink was a bit lighter. Then attach this layer to the Basic Black C/S layer and attach them to the card base.

Cut a piece of Basic White C/S to 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". Using the same technique as above, add some Highland Heather Ink with the Blending Brush to the center of this layer. Then stamp the flower overtop using the Highland Heather Ink. *Keep in mind that this layer will be mounted onto the card base in a diamond shape so stamp the flower accordingly.

Splatter on a bit of Wink Of Stella.

Cut a piece of Basic Black C/S to 2 9/16 x 2 9/16 (or just a smidge larger than the Basic White square) Attach the two layers together.

Emboss them using the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder.

Using Dimensionals, attach them to a Basic White C/S layer measuring 2 5/8" x 2 5/8". Then attach them to the card base in the center and on an angle so it creates a "diamond" shape.

On a small piece of Basic Black C/S, stamp "with Sympathy" in VersaMark Ink and heat emboss using White Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool. Flag cut one end and attach it to the card as shown in the photo.

Add a double Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon bow just above the sentiment to finish the card.

I hope you liked today cards and that I have inspired you.

I had lots of fun making these cards!

They stand up for easy display.

For this card I used the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper, Pacific Point, Basic White and Real Red Card Stocks, Real Red Ink, Floral Hearts Dies and the Real Red Faux Linen Ribbon.

Supplies for this card: Pacific Point and Basic White Card Stocks, Real Red Ink, Floral Hearts Dies, Always In My Heart Stamp Set and Sunshine And Rainbows Designer Series Paper.

Supplies for this card: Pattern Party Designer Series Paper, Pacific Point, Basic White and Flirty Flamingo Card Stocks, Flirty Flamingo Ink, Floral Hearts Dies and Basic White Bakers Twine.

I love that they fold flat and fit into an envelope.

Here is a great video from StampChatter showing how to make and assemble this fun fold!

My measurements:

Card Base- 4 1/4" x 10 1/2" scored at 1/2", 1 3/4", 3 3/4" and 5".

Pop-up Panel- 3" x 5 3/4" scored at 1/2" and 1 3/4".

Basic White Art Piece- 2 3/4" x 3 3/4".

Designer Series Paper- 4" wide x 3 1/2" long for the top portion.  1 3/4" x 4" for the pop-up front panel.

I used different dies from the Floral Hearts Dies and the matching Always In My Heart Stamp Set.

For the 2 cards with the Real Red and Flirty Flamingo hearts border, keep the small hearts that pop out of the die to decorate your cards with. I also added a Real Red Faux Linen Ribbon bow or a Basic White Bakers Twine Bow.

Have fun playing around with different Designer Series Papers, Card Stocks and Die sets.

Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop

Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop

It's time again for another fun Blog Hop with our Team Canada Inks Up! Be sure to check out everyone and leave us comments! We love hearing from you!

I decided to play around with the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks and the Blending Brushes. They are so easy to use and lots of fun playing around with different colours!

For this card I used a Pool Party Card Stock base, 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2", a Basic White C/S panel, 4" x 5 1/4", the floral Decorative Mask, Blending Brushes, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzaz Inks.
I started with the lighter colour, Coastal Cabana, and using a soft circular motion to lay down my colour. (I protected my card stock with Post-It Notes so I didn't get ink where I didn't want it and to keep my mask in place.) After I was happy with the Coastal Cabana, I gently added Bermuda Bay Ink to the centres of the flowers. Then I lined up the leaves portion of the masks and added some Pear Pizzaz Ink. I didn't use the corresponding mask layer for this card. I was really happy how it turned out! Then I stamped "Thank You"  from the "Grassy Grove" Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink. I embossed this Basic White layer with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder then attached it to the card base. I splattered on some Wink Of Stella for some sparkle!

For the butterfly card I started with a Pool Party C/S base, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4". I added a Bermuda Bay C/S layer, 4" x 5 1/4". The Basic White panel is cut to 3 3/4" x 5". This time I did use the bold and the detailed butterfly coordinating masks. For the body I gently brushed on Coastal Cabana Ink, then moved the mask to the detailed area and I added Bermuda Bay Ink. The masks are so easy to line up and the Blending Brushes add the ink in such a soft and smooth way. *Tip, after you have inked up the Blending Brush, remove some of the ink onto a piece of scrap paper, then using a soft and gentle circular motion on your project you will get great results.
I stamped "Happy Birthday" from the Flowing Flowers Stamp Set using Memento Black Ink. Then I embossed this layer using the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. I added a Basic Black Bakers Twine bow and splattered on some Wink Of Stella to finish off the card.
I hope I have inspired you today to try out these fun Layering Decorative Masks.
