A Simple Card Layout

 

Sometimes you need to make a quick and simple card, but you still want it to look amazing!

This layout is very easy and quick.

Card Base: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

Night Of Navy C/S layer: 5 1/4" x 4"

Night Of Navy C/S flap: 5" x 3 1/4" score at 1" on the longer side. This 1" tab is glued behind the Night Of Navy C/S panel before you attach it to the card base. This creates the flap.

Designer Series Paper: 5 1/8" x 3 7/8", on the long 5 1/8" side, cut 1" off of each end. Keeping them in order so that when you attach them to the card the pattern matches up.

Basic White C/S inside layer: 3 7/8" x 3" 

I love stamping a sentiment in a dark ink then stamping a flower or leaf over top of it with a lighter ink. 

Scrap of Basic White C/S and Night Of Navy C/S for the sentiment.

Scrap of Basic White Ribbon, folded.

Don't forget the bling! 

This is also a great way to use up all that Designer Series Paper!

Stampin' Up!'s 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue

This years catalogue is very different from years past. Here is a great video explaining some of the changes.

Now, onto todays card!

I decided to make a Diamond Flap Fold Card.

This is an easy fun fold with so many possibilities.

For the first card I used the new "Take To The Sky Designer Series Paper". The clouds were perfect and I used another sheet to fussy cut the airplanes. 

The sentiment is from the stamp set, Hot Air Balloon. The sentiment is stamped in Night Of Navy Ink.

Measurements:

Base Card Stock 4 1/4" x 10 3/4" scored at 5 1/2" and 8 3/4".

At the end of the shortest section, mark at 2 1/8" and then cut from that mark to the nearest score line. See photo of template.

Cut a coordinating piece of C/S to 3" x 3" and attach overtop of the triangle on the card base. Only add glue to the 1/2 triangle portion on the card base.

Cut another piece of coordinating C/S to 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" and attach overtop of the 3x3 square.

Cut a piece of Basic White C/S to 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". This is for your front sentiment. Be sure to stamp on an angle.

Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper to 3" x 4" and attach to the front left side of the card base.

I cut a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Basic White C/S for the inside.

Die cut out front images or stamp images. I attached them using Dimensionals.

Embellish with ribbons, bling, Bakers Twine, whatever you happen to have. I used my Stampin' Blends to colour onto the Rhinestones to match my card colours.

For my second card I used the same cloud image from the Designer Series Paper and then I used the Hot Air Balloon Stamps and Dies. The balloon is stamped in Night Of Navy Ink, the basket and smaller border are die cut from Balmy Blue C/S and the larger border is die cut from Night Of Navy C/S. I added a few dots from a White Gel Pen to the balloon detail.

I kept the inside simple, just a sentiment.

 Simply Circles for Freshly Made Sketches

I really enjoyed the sketch challenge this week at Freshly Made Sketches. It is always a simple layout and it's a great way to get my creative juices flowing!

I started with a card base of Night Of Navy Card Stock cut to 4 1 /4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2".

Attach a piece of Beauty Of The Earth Designer Series Paper cut to 3 3/4" x 5". 

Die cut 2 circles from the Layering Circles Dies using Basic White C/S, one large and one small. Also die cut the coordinating scalloped circle, one in Night Of Navy Card Stock and one in Balmy Blue C/S. 

Stamp the foliage from the Merriest Moments Stamp Set using Balmy Blue Ink. Stamp off once to get a lighter image for one of the images. Stamp "For You" from the Peaceful Cabin Stamp Set using Memento Black Ink. Attach the circles and scalloped circles together. Then attach the circles to the card front using Dimensionals. 

Cut a strip of Night Of Navy C/S, flag cut one end. Cut a piece of Glittered Organdy Ribbon, flag cut one end and attach to the Night Of Navy C/S strip with two Glue Dots that will be hidden.  Attach the strip using Dimensionals between the circles. 

Add a Rhinestone to the end of the strip to hide a Glue Dot.

"DAD"  Card For Freshly Made Sketches

My card base is Pear Pizzaz with a 4" X 5 1/4" panel of Pear Pizzaz that I embossed with the Absolutely Argyle Embossing Folder. I then cut some strips of Country Club Designer Series Paper and one strip of Night Of Navy Card Stock, and attached them to the card following the sketch.  I die cut two pieces of "Rope" from the Smooth Sailing Die with Night Of Navy Card Stock and glued one to the horizontal piece of DSP. I partially punched out a piece of Whisper White C/S using the Everyday Label Punch. I die cut the letters, DAD from a retired set called Little Letters using Night Of Navy and attached them to the tag and then stapled the other piece of the Rope Die Cut behind the tag. It is attached to the card using dimensional.
