 Make Your Own Designer Series Paper

It is very easy to make your own DSP. Pick a stamp, ink it up and stamp repeatedly onto your card stock. Make sure to fill it in as much as possible without too much overlapping. If you have open spaces use a smaller image to fill it in.

I made this card today to show you how easy it is to make DSP and for the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.

My card base is the Memories And More Hand-Penned Cards and Envelopes. 

These card bases come already cut and scored complete with matching envelopes! They match with the beautiful Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper on page 131 of the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. 

I cut a piece of Basic White C/S to 2 3/4" x 6 1/4" and repeatedly stamped the floral image from the Elegantly Said Stamp Set using Memento Black Ink.  I then splattered this panel with Wink Of Stella for a nice sparkle! Adhere this panel to a 3" x 6 1/4" piece of Basic Black C/S. Adhere to the card front using Dimensionals. 

Die cut a floral sprig and a butterfly from the Meadow Dies using Black Glitter Paper. **This Glitter paper is making a return in the July-December 2021 Mini Catalogue!!**

Attach the floral sprig to the card front using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

On a scrap piece of Basic White C/S stamp a sentiment using Memento Black Ink. Attach the sentiment to a layer of Black Glitter Paper that is just slightly larger. Attach to the card using Dimensionals. Attach the butterfly to the sentiment using a Glue Dot. 

Using the ready made card bases and matching envelopes makes card making quick and easy. I hope you liked todays card!

Thinking Of You

For todays card I started with a 4" x 8" piece of Soft Succulent Card Stock scored in half at 4". This is the card base.

Cut a piece of Vellum to 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". For this sample I used 2 Stampin' Blends, Dark Evening Evergreen and Dark Soft Succulent. I scribbled horizontal lines back and forth alternating between the 2 Stampin' Blends. My lines were about 1/2" wide, repeating until I reached the bottom. Then I dipped a small paint brush into the "99% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol" and dabbed it over the lines between the 2 colours to blend them together. I used a fair amount of the rubbing alcohol. Once I was happy with the blending, I dipped my paint brush into the alcohol again and using my Bone Folder I tapped the brush to splatter the alcohol onto the Vellum and it creates these really cool blotchy circles! Then I splattered it with the Wink Of Stella for some sparkle! Set aside to dry.

Cut a piece of Basic White C/S the same size as the Vellum, 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". I find that by adding this white C/S behind the Vellum the colours are more vibrant. I used Stampin' Seal to attach these two pieces together.

Cut a piece of Pattern Party Designer Series Paper to 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" and attach the Vellum panel to it. Attach this to the card front using Dimensionals.

Using a scrap of Soft Succulent C/S, stamp a sentiment with Memento Black Ink. Angle cut both ends. Attach to the card front using Dimensionals.

Die cut a Basic Black C/S leaf using the Artistic Dies. Cut apart, I used 3 leaves. Add some Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to the leaves and tuck underneath the sentiment.

Tie a double bow using Basic Black Bakers Twine and attach under the sentiment using a Glue Dot.

Artistically Inked Bundle and Alcohol Blending

I just had to make another card using the Alcohol Blending Technique and Stampin' Blends! 

My other card was made with softer colours. You can see that card and all the directions to do the alcohol blending technique HERE.

Todays card is very bright and cheery!!

Isn't that Vellum background gorgeous!!!  To achieve this look you only need 3 different Stampin' Blends: Polished Pink, Highland Heather and Flirty Flamingo! With our amazing palette of Stampin' Blends imagine the combinations!!

I added a Basic Black C/S floral die cut from the Artistic Dies. Doesn't that flower just pop on that background!! 

I finished up the card with some Highland Heather Grosgrain Ribbon. This ribbon has a beautiful shimmer to it. To add the ribbon I placed some Stampin' Seal Adhesive down on the card front then attached the ribbon by gathering it for some more texture. The sentiment is stamped onto Basic White C/S and angle cut at both ends. I also splattered some Wink Of Stella all over the card front. 

The card base is Night Of Navy C/S cut to 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2". 

Cut the Vellum C/S to 4" x 5 1/4" as well as a piece of Basic White C/S. Do your alcohol blending before attaching the Basic White C/S behind the Vellum. If you mount the finished Vellum onto Basic White C/S the colours are much more vivid.
