Sketch Challenge Card

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge Card!

I decided to play with the "new" early release bundle called Eden's Garden. The dies in this bundle are so pretty!!

Directions:

I started with a card base of Soft Succulent Card Stock cut to 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2".

I cut another piece of Soft Succulent C/S to 4" x 5 1/4". I embossed this panel using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder then I attached it to the card front using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

Using Evening Evergreen C/S, die cut 2 ornate trim pieces. Attach them as shown in the photo to the card using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue. Trim off any excess.

Die cut 1 Basic White C/S circle and 1 scalloped circle in Evening Evergreen C/S that is just slightly larger for layering.

Stamp the floral image onto the Basic White C/S circle using Soft Succulent Ink. This is a "Distinktive" stamp set; it has a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step, creating photo-realistic images.

Attach the Basic White circle to the scalloped Evening Evergreen circle and attach to the card front using Dimensionals.

Add an Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon and 3 Garden Gems to finish off the card. Simple but so pretty!

New Post: Alcohol Blending

Alcohol Blending

Alcohol isn't just for drinking! I'm talking about Isopropyl 99% Alcohol. (Do not drink it!)

*Tip: it has to be 99% isopropyl Alcohol to work.

This technique has been around for a long time but I didn't have the inks to create this background. I do however have Stampin' Blends! This is a really fun technique with endless possibilities and it is very addicting!

Cut a piece of Vellum Card Stock and a piece of Basic White C/S to 4" x 5 1/4". Start by adding colour to the piece of Vellum using Stampin' Blends. I used Light Pool Party, Dark Bermuda Bay and Dark Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends. I laid down patches of colour, use all 3 Blends, let the colours just touch each other. For this card I only added colour to the left side of the Vellum.

Using a paint brush and 99% Isopropyl Alcohol, add the alcohol to the edges of the patches of colours. This will create the colours to bleed. I worked in small areas so that the alcohol didn't dry. Once you have added some alcohol to a small part, use a straw or a "blower tool" to move the colours around. You want it to bleed into the other colours to create a "marbled effect".

When I was happy with the results, I also splattered some Stampin' Blends Ink onto the Vellum. To do this, use the brush end and tap barrel of the Blend marker firmly with your Bone Folder. It will create a fine detail of splatter. You can also splatter some Wink Of Stella onto the Vellum as well.

Let the Vellum dry. Then using Memento Black Ink, stamp a sentiment. Set aside to dry. Once dry, attach the Vellum C/S to the Basic White C/S of the same size. *Tip: I used the Stampin' Seal to attach the Vellum C/S to the Basic White C/S panel. I added small amounts of Stampin' Seal all around the edges of the Vellum. Attach this panel to a 4 1/16" x 5 5/16" piece of Basic Black C/S.

Cut a piece of Soft Succulent Card Stock to 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2". This is your card base. Attach Vellum Panel to the card base.

Wrap some Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon around the top of the card and tie into a bow. Add some 2021-2023 In-Color Jewels to the card to finish it off.
