To Tear Or Not To Tear?

Sometimes a card just needs to have some tearing on it. I like how the tearing on todays card looks and it's an easy way to add some interest as well. The Basic White Card Stock always "pops" when it's paired with Night Of Navy Card Stock!

I wasn't a huge fan of the Lemon Lolly when I first saw it, but now I love it!! Especially with the Night Of Navy! It's very fresh and cheerful.

Directions for todays card:

Card Front:

Cut a piece of Night Of Navy Card Stock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and score at 4 1/4".

Cut a piece of Basic White C/S to 4" x 5 1/4" and tear approximately 1/2" off of the bottom edge. 

Cut a piece of the Bright And Beautiful Designer Series Paper to 3" x 5".

Wrap some Lemon Lolly Sheer Ribbon around the bottom edge of the DSP. Attach the ribbon to the back of the DSP. I use scotch tape for this. Cut a shorter piece of the Lemon Lolly Sheer Ribbon and tie it to the front of this layer through the other ribbon. I call it a "faux Bow". Attach this to the Basic White C/S layer. Then attach it to the card base using Dimensionals. 

Punch out a piece of Vellum CS using the Decorative Circle Punch. Attach it to the card base. I use a very small amount of Stampin' Seal. 

Die cut a Night Of Navy C/S flower using the Darling Details Dies. Attach it to the Vellum using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

Stamp the sentiment using Night Of Navy Ink onto Basic White C/S. The size depends on which sentiment you use. I used a sentiment from the Layering Leaves Stamp Set. This set has lots of beautiful sentiments! Punch a small hole in the upper left corner of the sentiment strip and add some White Bakers Twine. Attach the sentiment using Dimensionals.

Finish the card front off by adding some Loose Silver Sequins. 

Card Inside:

Cut a piece of Basic White C/S to 5 1/4" x 4". 

Cut a piece of the same DSP as you used for the card front to 3/4" x 5 1/4" and attach it to the very bottom of the Basic White layer. 

Cut a 3/4" x 5 1/4" piece of Basic White C/S and die cut this strip using the decorative edge die from the Darling Details Dies. Attach this strip over top of the DSP using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

Tie some White Bakers Twine around the layer, right up to the where the decorative edge is glued. This hides the seam.

Attach this layer to the inside of the card.

I also stamped my envelope using a leaf image from the Layering Leaves Stamp Set and Night Of Navy Ink.

 Trucking Along With Birthday Wishes!

As soon as I saw the Trucking Along Bundle with the matching Trucking Along Builder Punch I knew I had to have it!!

My Dad has a 1928 Ford Model T Roadster Pickup. I know it's not the same but it's close-ish!! (My husband says not even close! LOL) 🤷 This card is for my dads 86th birthday next month! 

This truck is such a great part of history! 

Directions For Todays Card:

Cut a piece of Thick Basic White Card Stock to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score in half at 4 1/4". This is the card base.

Cut a 3" x 5 1/2" piece of Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper. I just loved the piece with the hearts and Pretty Peacock background!

Cut 2 pieces of the Soft Shimmer Paper to 1/2" x 5 1/2". Attach the strips behind the DSP at the top and bottom. I used Tear And Tape to attach them. 

Wrap some Linen Thread around this panel 2X and tie into a bow on the right side. Then attach this panel to the card front using Dimensionals.

Stamp "Birthday Wishes" from the Sending Smiles Stamp Set using Memento Black Ink onto the bottom right of the card base.

Die cut a Basic White C/S rectangle using the Deckled Rectangle Dies. This rectangle measures 3 1/2" x 2 1/4". 

Using Balmy Blue Ink and a Blending Brush, lightly add some colour to all the edges of the rectangle.

On the bottom of the rectangle stamp the road/shadow lines using Memento Black Ink. 

On some scrap Basic White C/S stamp the truck outline then stamp the wheels using Memento Black Ink. Stamp the truck body using Garden Green Ink. Punch out the truck with the coordinating Trucking Along Punch. Using Dimensionals, attach the truck to the rectangle.

Stamp the gifts outline using Memento Black Ink onto scrap Basic White C/S. Colour the gifts using Stampin' Blends. I used Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pretty Peacock. Using Paper Snips, cut out the gifts. Use Glue Dots to attach to truck. Add some Wink Of Stella to the gifts.

Attach the rectangle to the card front using Dimensionals and add some Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio to finish it off.

I also stamped a Garden Green truck inside the card and on the envelope so everything coordinates!
